Client. 5 iconic Manhattan hotels
Goals. Value engineer to reduce costs from competitor | Capture utility rebates | 1 megawatt savings while reducing light levels
Challenges. Time constraints due to rebate deadline | 1 megawatt savings requirement | Cost savings had to be considerable to win bid | Work had to be non-obtrusive to hotel guest experience | NYC union labor
The Story. Five iconic hotels in the heart of Manhattan wanted to save money on energy and capture some rebate savings. They turned to Wiedenbach Brown and saw fantastic results. With a $700,000 budget reduction, rebates that covered 40% of the project cost, and an entire megawatt saved annually (savings of $161,000/yr), the customer couldn’t have been happier with WB’s performance and rebate filings. The cherry on top? Guest experience ratings increased after the new lights were installed!
