The world headquarters of one Fortune 100 company is a striking postmodern building in New York City’s World Financial Center complex. To support the company’s commitment to the environment, the 51-story building completed a $1.2M turnkey lighting retrofit.
Wiedenbach Brown upgraded 13,000 light fixtures – more than 28,000 bulbs – with LEDs. WB selected upgrades carefully to maintain original design intent. Local 3 union labor conducted all work on weekends to reduce the impact on business operations.
The client is now poised to save 1.5 million kWh each year. That ongoing energy savings, combined with labor / lamp avoidance and tax savings, is in excess of $380,000 annually!
Thanks to a generous utility incentive, WB expects the project to achieve simple payback in only 1.6 years.
