Joining the family business in 1976, Chris Brown saw the company grow from a small New York metropolitan-area light bulb and lighting fixture distributor, to a national full-service lighting and electrical solutions provider, prior to the sale of the company to USESI in 2006. Known for his collaborative and inclusive management style, Chris led the company through the most innovative period of its history, focusing on providing the most efficient, highest quality lighting products to thousands of commercial clients around the country.
He was chairman of the Energy Committee of the New York Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) from 1994 thru 2007, providing insight into energy-saving issues. He was a longtime member of the Board of Directors and Chairman of the Vendor committee of the National Association of Energy Companies (NAESCO). He has been involved as a presenter for The New York Energy Buyers Forum, the Professional Retail Store Maintenance (PRSM) and other associations due to his expertise in energy-efficient lighting technologies. He is also a member of the Advisory Board of PRSM. Chris has created and moderated many energy, lighting and sustainability related roundtables and seminars, including conceiving and creating the Energy Awareness Day program for BOMA New York, an annual event since 1995. Chris is also involved in several community projects including the Abe's Garden Alzheimer's project (www.abesgarden.org) , Habitat for Humanity and several others.
When not involved with one or more of his four kids, Chris enjoys travel, golf, tennis, photography and continues his search for the "world's best garlic and sausage pizza".
